I ran around with a flash whilst my mate Ben did all the hoop stuff on this one.

so im guessing the exposure was less than 15 seconds? cos when i have done light paintings i have used 15 or 13 and i get a fair bit of the background...i love the hula hoop idea...such a better result than running around with a torch

Thank you, its just a plastic hula hoop with LED's stuck on it.

These photos are awesome, I've never seen this kind of thing done before. I take it it was some kind of hoop that flashes at a fairly high frequency?

Cheers man, I got the idea for the hoop from a guy called Stu Jenks, i havn't seen anyone else using this technique though. He actually emailed me before after seeing my DA page, pretty stoked with that.

The hoop just has led torches attached to it, I use a handheld flash to expose the rest of the scene.
